Sofia Perez-Hughes, Writer
Sofia Perez-Hughes is currently a sophomore at Grand Oaks High School. She has wanted to be a writer since she was a young girl watching 'Gilmore Girls' for the first time. Her main interests in writing include pop culture and feature stories. Growing up, Sofia was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Texas at 8 years old. She has one older sister, Alejandra, and two parents, Tim and Soledad. She’s currently employed at the World Champions Centre as a coach and is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society. Sofia loves to travel (especially with her mom) and will take the opportunity at any chance she gets. She's been to 32 out of the 50 states, Mexico, Canada, and will be taking a trip to Germany, France, and Spain during the summer of 2023. She's been dreaming of going to Scotland for years now. What interested her the most is the architecture of the Highlands and the history, specifically the Jacobites history, including the Bonnie Prince Charlie. Not only does Sofia love traveling, but she's a huge enthusiast of concerts and music. She's been to a Miley Cyrus, Travis Scott, Pitbull, LANY (2x), Harry Styles (2x), and a Louis Tomlinson concert. Her favorite musicians include Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, and Tyler, The Creator. Sofia is tremendously excited to be a part of the Grizzly Gazette and wishes to inspire/teach the people reading her stories.
